The Walmart Driver’s reputation for Safety is second to none in the industry. Our reputation for safe, professional driving is as strong as the billions of safe miles we have driven over the years and the thousands of Walmart Drivers that have worn our uniform.

Walmart is recognized by the industry as having one of the safest fleets in the country, driving 2.11 million miles per preventable accident. Walmart is also proud to have a DOT Recordable Accident Frequency of 0.342 per million miles.

Walmart drivers must meet stringent pre-hire standards that include a minimum of 250,000 miles of driving tractor trailers and no preventable accidents in the last three years.

New hire drivers spend a week in orientation and training before going out on the road. This training includes 8 hours of defensive driving training as well as hazardous material and injury prevention training.

Each driver also gets an additional 6 hours of defensive driving and update training each year of their employment to refresh their defensive driving skills.
